Van has worked as a previs artist, cinematic lead, and layout technical director for Dreamworks, Digital Domain, The Mill, 2K, Evil Eye Pictures, Paramount, Halon, and The Third-floor studios on such projects as How to Train Your Dragon, Fortnite, Sonic 3, Aquaman 2, The Watch, Jo and NBA2K17. He has experience using Unreal 5.0, Unity, and Motionbuilder to develop optimized real-time rendering workflows.
He also loves to help others leverage frameworks using Unreal and has taught Game Development using Unreal at Duke University, Northeastern, and LSU.
Van has recently been using game engines for Virtual Live concerts, award-winning VR experiences, and workflow and pipeline development for emerging technology.
